The Union met today April 23, 2008 at 9:30AM to resume contract negotiations with the company. After more than nine hours, contract talks broke down at 7:15PM. The Union has given Lakeland Bus a deadline, if there is no tentative agreement by 12:01AM Monday, May 5th, the bus drivers and mechanics of Lakeland Bus will be on strike. The Union Negotiations Committee has made it clear to the company that they are available at any hour to resume bargaining and resolve this labor dispute.
We are asking again for the help of our passengers by calling Lakeland Bus at 973-366-0600 ext.s 601, 602, and 603, and urging them to come to a fair settlement with the Union.
